Barbecue ShowdownForget what they say in Memphis. Forget what they say in Kansas City. Forget what they say in the Carolinas. Everyone knows that the best barbeque in the United States comes from right here in Texas. Not only do we have the best cattle to choose from, but we also have the best cowboys, and they’ve been barbequing for hundreds of years. Whether you’re looking for a juicy T-bone steak, mouthwatering brisket, or a thick slab of ribs, Texas BBQ has it all and no one does it better. For residents in Corpus Christi looking to get their hands on some delicious barbeque, make sure you stop at these 3 places:

1. Silverado Smokehouse
4522 Weber Road
Corpus Christi, TX 78411

If you’re looking for the best BBQ in Corpus Christi, you have to start at Silverado Smokehouse. Winner of the Caller Time’s Best Bar-B-Que Award every year since 2004, Silverado’s has been consistently making some the best barbeque in the entire state for a decade. Make sure you try their brisket, ribs, and Poor Boy sandwiches, and don’t forget to wash it down with an ice cold Shiner Bock. They’re open 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily, so stop by sometime for lunch or dinner.

2. Hoegemeyer’s Barbeque Barn
711 Concrete St.
Corpus Christi, TX 78401

Pronounced Hay-guh-my-er, this tasty BBQ joint is relatively new to the restaurant scene in Corpus Christi. Hoegemeyer’s opened their doors back in May 2013, but it didn’t take long for the restaurant to gain a loyal fan base. Located downtown near the Concrete Street Amphitheater, it’s the perfect location and environment for some good ol’ fashioned Texas-style BBQ. They’re only open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (or until they run out), however, so make sure you get there early!

3. Quickdraw B.B.Q
322 N Staples St.
Corpus Christi, TX 78401

Every town has a few “hole in the wall” restaurants that are big on flavor, but small on fancy amenities, and Quickdraw B.B.Q is one of Corpus Christi’s. This little stand on the corner of Staples and Comanche might not look like much, but don’t let looks deceive you. Serving up some of the best ribs, turkey legs, and brisket in the entire city, you’ll be upset you didn’t try this place sooner. Make sure you get there early though, because they’re only open weekdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., and once they run out of food, they’re done.
