There's Fun for Everyone at 4 Great Corpus Christi Parks

Parks_CC.jpgDid you know that nearly three-quarters of Corpus Christi's residents live within a 10-minute walk to a public park? Here are some of our city's best parks that are easily accessible to residents of our Springs at Corpus Christi luxury apartment community.

1. Captain Falcon Park

Captain Falcon is a 30-acre park tucked away just a short drive from Springs at Corpus Christi. There are plenty of shaded areas along with two playgrounds and picnic facilities, including grills. If you're out for a walk or a run, Captain Falcon adjoins the Oso Creek Trail.

2. Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve & Learning Center

There's no better place to observe and learn about nature than Oso Bay Wetlands. The 162-acre preserve holds four miles of trails where you can join guided nature walks or explore on your own, while the Learning Center is the site of workshops, nature storytimes and interactive displays. Trails and playground are open daily from dawn until dusk, and hours for the Learning Center are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

3. Cole Park

Located on the bayfront in downtown Corpus Christi, Cole Park is more than just a garden variety park. With amenities like a skate park, fishing pier and music pavilion, it's an outdoor entertainment center. During the summer months the park hosts its popular Bay Jammin' Concert & Cinema Series. Thursday nights are for concerts, featuring a wide range of music from classic rock to electronica, while family-friendly movies are screened on Friday nights. Admission to these events is free for all visitors.

4. Padre Balli Park

Looking for a quick but relaxing getaway? Beautiful Padre Balli Park is less than 30 minutes away from Springs Corpus Christi, but you'll feel like you're in a different world. The 374-acre park on the north end of Padre Island includes a fishing pier as well as beach access for swimming, surfing and kayaking. If you want to make a weekend or longer trip out of it, Padre Balli has 54 RV campsites and 35 tent campsites with water and electric hookups. The park is open year-round.
