Making New Friends

Last week, we wrote about some of the great networking opportunities for local business professionals in the Corpus Christi area. However, we realize that not all of our readers are business professionals. And since you don’t have to be in business to benefit from having a network of close, personal connections, we wanted to find some great non-business “networking” events that anyone can enjoy. Whether you’re looking for a book club, walking partners, or just some people to explore the city with, there are tons of opportunities to get out in the community and meet new people. To help you find some new friends who also share the same interests, here are some fun Corpus Christi Meetups you should check out.

Play and Learn (P.A.L.)

Let’s face it; when you’re a mom with a young child, you don’t get too many chances to go out and meet new people. Thanks to P.A.L., however, Corpus Christi moms have a way to meet up with other mothers and their young children. And these aren’t just your typical “play dates at the park” events either. Each event is meant to encourage learning in a fun and exciting environment for the children, as well as other mom-only events like hobby workshops and a mom’s night in. Whether you’re going to the museum with the kids or hanging out with the other moms, both you and your children will have tons of fun.

PI Social Club & CC Shenanigans

For the younger residents of Corpus Christi, whether you’re just starting college, a career, and/or parenthood, PI Social Club & CC Shenanigans will help you meet other young people in the same boat. If you’re looking for a group of people who like to spend their weekends inside on the couch, however, look again! These Meetups are full of Sunday Fundays, bonfires on the beach, and nights at the bar.

Texas Paddlefest 2014

Though Corpus Christi might be known for its awesome sailing conditions, it’s also home to a number of different watersport enthusiasts – especially kayakers. And with Texas Paddlefest in its 10th year, paddlers from all over Corpus Christi have created a group to help build excitement for the event, as well as the sport itself. Whether you’re a kayaking expert or you’re just getting started, you’re bound to have some fun and learn a thing or two from these passionate paddlers.

Corpus Christi Active Singles

Just like the name would imply, if you’re tired of living the single life in Corpus Christi and are looking for fun ways to meet new singles, this is the group for you. These aren’t your typical dinner dates either. If you attend an event, expect nothing less than bonfires on the beach, dance lessons, sailboarding, or even skydiving!
