Spring-Events-CC.jpgWhile January may be the actual beginning of the year, spring is the time when everything comes alive. Corpus Christi's event schedule starts ramping up with concerts, festivals and other exciting activities. Be sure to mark your calendar now for these upcoming events.

1. Unspoken Word with Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Sunday, March 27
Chuckles Comedy Club

Discover a whole new side to legendary WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts when he takes the stage with his one-man show. Roberts shares stories about his legendary wrestling career and his victory over substance abuse with a little bit of humor and a lot of honesty. The show starts at 7 p.m. General admission is $25 and a meet-and-greet package is available for $40.

2. Any Colour You Like
Friday, April 1
House of Rock

This tribute to iconic British rock band Pink Floyd returns to House of Rock after a successful appearance on New Year's Eve. The show is named after a song on the band's classic album Dark Side of the Moon. Showtime is 9 p.m. and admission is $10. Tickets may be purchased on the website.

3. Run Amuck 5K Fun Mud Run

Get down and dirty for a good cause at this 5th annual charity event sponsored by the Junior League of Corpus Christi. The 5K course includes 15 obstacles that are challenging but doable for any fitness level. First wave of runners departs at 8:30 a.m. with others following at 10-minute intervals. Kids under the age of 13 can participate in their own 1K or 3K run. The registration fee of $60 ($30 for kids) includes a race bib, finisher medal, goody bag and ticket to the after-race party with pizza and refreshments. 

4. Corpus Christi Food Truck Festival
Saturday, April 2
N Chaparral St and Peoples St

Corpus Christi celebrates the food truck boom with this first annual festival featuring 40 of the area's most popular trucks and their tasty offerings. Participants include Munchie's Grub Bus, Iron Piñata and Bigger Burger. Local arts and crafts vendors will be on hand along with live music at the Budlight Stage. Festival hours are noon until midnight and admission is free.

5. Pops in the Park
Saturday, April 16
Whataburger Field
734 E Port Ave

Enjoy music under the stars at this annual event that draws more than 5,000 attendees. The Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra performs a selection of light pop and classical music synchronized with a Harbor Bridge light show, and the evening wraps up with a stunning fireworks display. Concession stands will be open and there will be live pre-show entertainment along with kids' activities. Gates open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10 for general admission, $35 for reserved seating and $125 for VIP that includes a private party.
