When it comes to blowing off steam, there are few activities better than relaxing with good friends over a burger and beer. If your dog is your best friend, shouldn't he be included instead of leaving him behind to "dine" by himself?

The good news is that now he can be. Several dining establishments in San Antonio are becoming pet-friendly to accommodate their dog-loving customers. Make it a point to patronize these restaurants accompanied by your loyal pet.

The Cove
606 W. Cypress

The Cove advertises their cuisine as "SOL" food: Sustainable, Organic, Local. Burgers are made with grass-fed beef as well as lamb, bison and veggie patties of Portobello or brown rice. Pair your meal with one of 50 Texas beers on tap. Dogs are welcome at their patio seating and there is also a dog run where they can burn off some energy.

Two Bros BBQ Market
12656 West Avenue

It wouldn't be San Antonio without at least one BBQ joint on the list. Two Bros allows leashed dogs on their expansive shaded patio while you enjoy tasty ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Plan a pre- or post-dining visit to nearby McAllister Dog Park.

Alamo Street Eat Bar
609 South Alamo Street

Feeling a bit indecisive? Grab your pooch and head out to San Antonio's first urban gourmet food truck park. Choose from sushi, burgers, Cajun and other street food favorites. A self-serve water cooler is on site so you can keep your pet hydrated.

Dough Pizzeria Napoletana
6989 Blanco Road

You can't go wrong with pizza. Napoletana's fresh pies cooked in a traditional wood-burning oven earned the restaurant a featured segment on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". Owners Doug and Lori Horn want their pizzeria to be a community restaurant "where no one is left out," including four-legged visitors who join their humans at the patio seating.

Il Sogno Osteria
200 East Grayson Street

A night out with your dog doesn't mean you're limited to casual dining. This five-star restaurant serves classic Italian dishes as found in the trattorias of Rome. The two of you can relax on the shady patio as you enjoy some pasta and wine. Take a stroll afterwards along the San Antonio River's Museum Reach.

We value the furry residents of our Springs Apartments community and we appreciate local establishments who make them feel welcome. Are there any other pet-friendly businesses that you frequent around town? Tell us about them in the comments!
