This summer, head out and really have some fun with your kids! If you are looking for some fun kid-friendly activities (that the entire family will enjoy), look no further than this great list that we've put together.

Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise

Have some young swashbucklers in the family? Then they will certainly enjoy a Pirate Cruise on the Pieces of Eight, a 65-foot Spanish Galleon. The cruise features snacks for the kids and it has a full a bar (for the parents only, of course). Ships set sail at different times depending on the day of the week, and you can buy different types of tickets; some of them include fun pirate paraphernalia (like eye patches!).

Shell Factory and Nature Park

For some old timey Florida fun, take the kids to the Shell Factory. Their newest attraction is a zip line, so the bravest in the family can attempt that, while the more faint of heart can explore all of the animals in the Nature Center. There are both exotic and native animals—a petting zoo, a butterfly garden, a miniature golf course and a Fun Park with bumper boats!

Sun Splash Family Water Park

Sun Splash is Southwest Florida's largest water park! With 14-acres of water slides and pools—it’s the perfect place to cool off this summer. From the Zoom Flume to Drop Slides, this water park has something for everyone even a laid back family pool for those a little less inclined to go all out when it comes to water park fun. They also have an Ecological Boardwalk where you can take a walk and enjoy nature right along the shores of Lake Kennedy.

The Imaginarium is another fun place the kids will love! It is full of educational exhibits that they will never know are actually educational, including the touch tanks and the backyard nature exhibit. They even offer 3-D movies. Open Tuesdays through Sundays.
