Moving to a new town is often terrifying and exciting at the same time. You're excited to be in a new place, but a bit scared because you don't know anyone there and feel displaced. One way to get over those feelings is to find things to do with other moms and meet new people so you feel more comfortable in your new town. Here are some local and online groups to check out.

Mom Meetups in Fort Myers

Mom meetups are groups of moms who get together for social events based on common interests. If you have toddlers, you might join the South Lee County Moms and Toddlers group. There are groups for moms of older kids, single moms and holistic moms as well. The groups plan parties, get-togethers, take trips and have a lot of fun.

Green-Market Yoga

Green-Market Yoga is a free yoga class for all skill levels. It’s listed in the 10 Best Free Things to do in Fort Myers. The class is held on Saturdays at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. Class begins at 9:30 a.m. and you're encouraged to bring a friend...or two. After class you can grab some lunch or do some shopping with your new friends.

Morning with Mommy-Fort Myers

Mornings with Mommy is an interactive playgroup for moms and kids ages 1 to 4. The activities are planned and all you have to do is sign up and bring your child. The cost for the program is $5 per session and includes snacks and supplies. Activities are from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and you must register in advance. What a great way to meet other moms and have a great time playing with your child!
