Exploring_Covington_And_Slidell_Neighborhoods.jpgApartment hunters generally take a good, hard look at the community surrounding an apartment, as the local amenities and conveniences are just as important as the comfort and safety of the dwelling itself. There are a multitude of intriguing venues close to Springs at River Chase in Covington or Springs at Fremaux Town Center in Slidell. Here’s a list of a few near both locations that you'll want to know about.

Springs at Fremaux Town Center

From Springs, you're less than a half hour away from downtown New Orleans via Exit 263 on nearby Interstate 10. Closer to home, visit these spots:

  • Wimbledon Park, located at Tasmania and 9th St., has a basketball court and playground equipment.
  • Olde Town Tavern, 316 Cousin St., is a casual drinking spot, with friendly bar staff and customers.

Interstate 12 is within easy access of your Springs apartment and will carry you to a number of conveniently close stores, restaurants and attractions. You're also just minutes away from Covington's quaint historic district, and close to Hwy 191, which crosses Lake Pontchartrain via the causeway and takes you into the heart of New Orleans.

Historic downtown Covington awaits exploration. Founded in 1813, Covington is the parish seat of St. Tammany, and besides its distinctive architecture, offers galleries, boutiques, antiques and nightlife. Also not to be missed:

  • Again, Springs shares the name of the nearby shopping mall - River Chase, which is home to many great stores and restaurants, including Belk, Dickey’s BBQ and Nevada Bob’s Golf.
