Live Local Program

Florida has seen significant population growth since 2019, which has led to sharp increases in rental rates—often outpacing salaries affected by inflation. As a result, many renters, especially essential workers like first responders (Hometown Heroes) who could previously afford housing, now find prices beyond their reach.

 

The ‘Live Local’ Act aims to address this by offering more accessible housing options for households earning between 80-120% of the area median income, allowing them to reside within their preferred communities.

Applicants must complete our standard application and meet all approval requirements. For ‘Live Local,’ qualified applicants also need to stay below the specified annual household salary cap per applicant. Once approved, participants will benefit from discounted monthly rent and capped renewal increases, provided they recertify their income annually to remain eligible for these discounts.
