The holiday season is just around the corner with Thanksgiving kicking off the festivities. Will you be hosting friends and family at your Austin apartment this year?
Residents of our Springs at Lakeline and Springs at Round Rock apartments will have a plethora of activities to choose from to celebrate the season. Here are the top events and local fun runs happening in Austin this season:
Do you want to fully enjoy your Thanksgiving meal without the guilt?Sign up to run the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot and earn your turkey! The serious runners can take on the 5-mile challenge while the trotters can work up a sweat with the 1-mile fun run. 2017 marks the 27th year of this family-friendly turkey trot in Austin, and all proceeds from the race benefit Caritas of Austin. On a side note, a 2018 Honda Accord will be given away in a raffle at this event, so be sure to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win!
Want to get in a practice run before the ThunderCloud Turkey Trot? Live Oak Brewing is hosting a 5K beer run the week before Thanksgiving. This fun run is untimed with Live Oak beer samplings for adult participants throughout the race. A root beer run will also be hosted for the kiddos, non-drinkers and designated drivers. Properly leashed pets are invited to participate, too!
Get into the spirit of giving at this annual children's parade benefiting Operation Blue Santa. Children are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate, and these gifts will be given to a child in need in the community in time for the holidays. This family-friendly parade is a great way to teach your children to be thankful for what they have and the importance of giving back to others in the community.
