Unforgettable entertainment is available at several top Cincinnati venues, with options ranging from live performances to independent movies. Check out these great picks the next time you have a free afternoon or evening.

1. Ensemble Theater

The Ensemble Theater is a professional theater that produces world and regional premieres. The upcoming 2016 and 2017 season includes "The Legend of Georgia McBride," "Cinderella: After Ever After," and "First Date". Tickets range from $18 to $44, but if you’ve never purchased a ticket at Ensemble Theatre before, you can get two for $10 at the “Try Us Out” rate. Half-price tickets are available two hours prior to showtime.

2. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
962 Mt. Adams Circle

A local staple for more than 50 years, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park produces comedies, dramas, and musicals in both classic and contemporary veins. The Playhouse in the Park has two venues: The Marx Theatre with 626 seats that keep viewers within 13 rows of the stage, and the Thompson Shelterhouse, where viewers are one of just 225 and never more than seven rows from the stage.

3. Esquire Theater
320 Ludlow Ave

The Esquire Theater is a historic establishment dating back to 1911 when it showed silent films. Today, you’ll find this indie theater showing independent and international films that are difficult find at other locations. Evening tickets are $10.50, while matinees and discounted tickets for children, students, seniors, and service members are $7.50.

4. Know Theatre of Cincinnati

The Know Theatre of Cincinnati strives to create an artistic playground that fosters creative development and interaction. Mainstage programming highlights pieces that are generally underrepresented on stages, and at $20 per ticket it’s a great way to witness top-notch entertainment without breaking the bank.
