Yoga has gone beyond trend status to become a popular workout form. Maybe you're a novice who is curious to try a class, or you're a newcomer to Corpus Christi who is looking for a studio to attend. We've put together a list of some of the top yoga studios in the area for you to check out. Namaste!

Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi
513 Clifford Street

The instructors at Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi promote a feeling of family among themselves and their students. Classes are offered in traditional styles of Ashtanga and Hatha along with a number of hybrid forms such as Hard Body, which combines yoga, strength training and Pilates. For moms and moms-to-be, they feature pre- and post-natal classes along with Mommy and Baby sessions.

Crossroads Yoga
5830 McArdle

Crossroads Yoga has a goal to provide instruction that is suitable for all ages, shapes, sizes and experience levels. Some of their classes incorporate chairs for the convenience of senior citizens or others with health problems. Svaroopa® Yoga makes use of blankets and yoga blocks to release tension for an inner sense of calmness. Supplement your yoga practice with Minute Method Meditation classes on the second Sunday of each month.

Youga Yoga
410 Starr Street

This unique non-profit studio is entirely donation-based. In addition to classes in regular yoga styles, they offer a Wednesday night Acro Yoga session for partner work, although no partner is needed to participate. Every third Wednesday the class is followed by a community pot luck. Sessions are sometimes held outdoors and once a month they hold a Bridge Walk at Heritage Park.

Yoga with Janie
901 Brawner Parkway

If you're on a budget or want to practice yoga on a casual basis, Janie Portele's classes are for you. She is a certified yoga teacher who conducts free yoga classes on Thursday mornings and modestly priced classes on Monday evenings. Fees for the Monday classes are $10, or you can get a 20 percent discount if you pay up front for an eight-class session. Classes are held at Unity by the Sea Church.
