1. Union Station

This 133-year-old landmark is rich in Denver history and was renovated in 2014 to serve as the city's social and rail transportation hub. The redevelopment of the 19.5 acres of abandoned rail yard surrounding Union Station and the station itself has made this popular attraction an inviting urban center with a hotel, office space, retail space, restaurants and more. For foodies, dining at Stoic and Genuine (seafood) or Next Door Community Pub (American) is a must. Visitors will also appreciate tasting local Denver beers at Terminal Bar.
2. Denver Art Museum

This world-renowned museum has something for everyone, from 15th-century Spanish portraiture to masterpieces in modern art. The Denver Art Museum is a great budget-friendly activity for families as admission for kids under the age of 18 is free. A hands-on way to experience the museum with kids is to pick up a free family backpack (found in level one of the Hamilton Building) that is full of art-making activities, games and puzzles.
3. History Colorado Center

Give your visitors a thorough understanding of the Mile High City by exploring its history. Unlike other museums that use plaques to tell you about the exhibit, the History Colorado Center has a number of exhibits that visitors actually get to experience (e.g., a sky jump simulator and a dynamite mine blasting game). Adults and children alike will enjoy exploring this hands-on museum.
4. Colorado State Capitol Building

This iconic building is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and visitors can take a self-guided tour of this Denver landmark. Please note that if you want to venture into the building's dome, you must take an official tour (free). Reservations for official tours are not required as long as your group has less than 10 people.
5. City Park
2001 Colorado Blvd, Denver
When you have first-time visitors in town, you definitely want to give them a view of Denver's skyline. City Park offers one of the best views in town, and it's also a great place to take a stroll, kick a ball or throw a Frisbee. Pack a picnic, check out the playgrounds and make a day of it. The Denver Zoo is also located in City Park and is a great destination to explore.
