1. Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve

Murphy-Hanrehan is one of the more stunning parks in the Twin Cities, with not one but two options for your pet's playtime. A three-acre fenced-in off-leash dog park is paired with 4.2 miles of turf dog trails. Dogs on a six-foot non-retractable leash are allowed on all paved trails. A $6 day pass for the dog park may be purchased from an on-site pay box. Park hours are 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Your dog will get a thorough workout running and playing on the vast 28-acre grounds of Cleary Lake's off-leash dog park. The area is fully fenced and includes a wetland pond. Switch it up with a walk on the 5.3 miles of trails that snake through the park. Dogs must be on a six-foot non-retractable leash while on the trails. Purchase a $6 day pass for the dog park at the on-site pay box. Park hours are 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.

This 25-acre off-leash park has been described as a dog's dream, with features including a large grassy area, hills and trees, and a swimming pond. Hours are 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Alimagnet Dog Park has been voted one of the best dog parks in the country by readers of Dog Fancy magazine. With upscale features such as lights, heated shelter and water dishes, and a dog-washing station, this seven-acre enclosed park is like a luxury spa for pets and their humans. There’s also a swimming pond and a separate dog run for small, timid or elderly dogs. Alimagnet is open year-round from 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.

5. Lebanon Hills Regional Park

With its 2,000 acres of woodlands, prairies and lakes, Lebanon Hills was voted one of Minnesota's top 10 attractions by readers of USA Today. You and your leashed dog will enjoy the beautiful scenery along 14.6 miles of nature trails. Park hours are 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.
