Moving to a new city where you don't know anyone is often scary and can leave you feeling isolated. Don't let the move get you down, the quickest way to feel comfortable in a new place is to get out and meet people. Having a few new friends to talk to can help you relax and begin feeling at home in your new surroundings. Here are some great resources for you to go to:

Mom Meetups in New Orleans

Read about some of the different mom groups listed here. There are mom groups for different interests and age groups. For instance, NOLA Faith Mamas provides support to community moms, NOLA Uptown Mama Fit and Playgroup plans and organizes play dates for moms with kids-past activities include Children's Museum, Cool Zoo and Yoga at the Park. Find a group and join the fun.

New Orleans/North Shore Moms Running Club

This club is for moms (really all women) to get together and run/walk/jog and socialize. The club to helps its members by answering running questions, training and sharing personal experiences. Signups are done through Facebook groups. Click on the link and ask to join your local Moms Run This Town (MRTT) group. You will be approved as soon as possible. If you do not have a Facebook account, just send an email to info@momsrunthistown.com.

Our Village Moms Club and Playgroup

Life is about finding balance, nurturing uour spirits, and forming lasting relationships. Our Village is a tightly built community of moms that share advice and plan fun activities for our moms and kids. There are free weekly playgroups, a mom's night out and community events.

New Orleans Mom Blog Facebook

This Facebook group is a blog/community organization for moms who are passionate about life with their kids, parenting and family and love of New Orleans. Join and chat about parenting tips and what's going on in the community.

Mommy Groups in New Orleans-Circle of Moms

Circle of Moms is an online community for moms to connect and ask questions, share parenting advice and help one another. Chat about food, behaviors, development and positive discipline methods that work. Moms of all ages are welcome. Join and get acquainted.

New Orleans Mom Blog-Neighborhood Community Groups

Community Groups are the perfect way to connect with other moms in New Orleans. This organization has 13 neighborhood groups available to join. Scroll down and find your neighborhood and request to join it.  There are also 6 specialty groups you can join such as Pregnant Moms, Special Needs Moms, Moms of Tweens, LGBT Group and a Dads Group.

Once you learn your way around town and have made some new friends, New Orleans will feel like home. It won't take long to get used to a new place if you keep a positive attitude and find fun things to do in New Orleans with your new friends.
