Basketball fans and sports enthusiasts alike look forward to March Madness each year and the sense of camaraderie that it brings. The tournament takes place March 13 through April 2, and there are a number of local bars and restaurants near your Springs apartment hosting March Madness celebrations. Here are the best places around Slidell and Covington to catch the games:

1. The Chimes
19130 W Front St, Covington
985.892.5396
6.2 miles from
Springs at River Chase

Are you craving Louisiana comfort food? For more than 30 years, The Chimes has been serving the Covington community with the best in local cuisine and a beer menu that is tough to beat. Want to expand your beer palate? The Chimes offers a program called Beer University where you can expand your knowledge and experience in beer tasting. Watching a March Madness game at The Chimes will give you a great excuse to try out some new brews and enjoy your favorite Louisiana comfort dishes.

2. Mandeville Daiquiris
1819 N Causeway Blvd, Mandeville
985.674.9463
5.4 miles from Springs at River Chase

This bar has been affectionately dubbed by locals as "the trailer," and the fun and lively atmosphere and cheap drinks make it a popular place to watch the games. As you would assume from the name of the bar, it is known for its daiquiris, but also features a full bar. Surprisingly, no beers are on tap, but a wide selection of bottles are available in the cooler. If you want to take a break from watching the game, pool tables and dart boards are available for extra entertainment.

3. Best Little Wherehouse Bar & Grill
1105 N Collins Blvd, Covington
985.327.5182
6.1 miles from Springs at River Chase

The Best Little "Wherehouse" (yes, that's spelled correctly) is just down the street from Mandeville Daiquiris and offers a similar ambiance. While the pool tables may initially draw you to this dive of a sports bar, it's also a really fun place to watch a March Madness game. Check this bar out on a Monday or Tuesday for bucket specials.

4. Buffalo Wild Wings
815 Brownswitch Rd, Slidell
985.639.3399
6.9 miles from
Springs at Fremaux Town Center

Wings and basketball go exceptionally well together, and no one does wings better in Slidell than Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant always provides a fun and lively atmosphere, and this ambiance is elevated even further during a game. With good prices and a wide selection of beer on tap, you can't go wrong with watching a March Madness game at Buffalo Wild Wings. Visit on a Tuesday for half-price wing night.
