New Year Events in Oklahoma CityAs 2017 draws to a close, it's time to start making plans for your New Year’s celebrations! There are plenty of awesome parties and events going on in the Oklahoma City area this year. Here are five of the best places to ring in the new year.

1. Opening Night 2018
Downtown Area, Oklahoma City

Hosted by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City, this celebration is designed for families with fireworks, a children's craft area, food trucks, live music performed by local bands and even a 5K race. Wristbands are available for $8 at local businesses such as 7-Eleven Stores and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art — or you can purchase one for $10 the night of. The event begins at 7 p.m., fireworks are at 9 p.m., and you can see the rest of the schedule on the event website.

2. Rockin' Noon New Year's Eve Dance Party
225 S Howard Ave, Moore

If you're looking for a way to celebrate with kids, this is it! The party takes place at the Moore Public Library between 11 a.m. and noon December 31. There's no cost for admission, and everyone gets to dance, make a craft and celebrate the New Year a little early with a balloon drop at noon.

3. New Year's Eve Skate Bash
5800 NW 36th St, Oklahoma City

Strap on your roller skates, and get ready to groove to the music at Skate Galaxy! Beginning at 7 p.m. on December 31 and lasting until 1 a.m. on January 1, this skating party involves a balloon drop, a toast with sparkling grape juice, plenty of party favors and a friendly atmosphere. Admission is just $15 per person, and all ages are welcome to attend.

4. Party With the Dodgers
2 S Mickey Mantel Dr, Oklahoma City

Are you a fan of Dodgers baseball? Then this New Year's celebration, held at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, is for you! Beginning at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, the exclusive event includes food, beer, wine and mixed drinks for all, plus a champagne toast and fireworks at midnight. You can purchase tickets online for $100 per person, which includes parking. Cocktail dress is suggested, and proceeds go to benefit the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation.

5. New Year's Eve Bash
425 E California Ave, Oklahoma City

Get ready to rock and roll with The Nixons, Aranda, Hinder and other big rock bands. Held at the Chevy Bricktown Events Center, this New Year's celebration offers reserved table seating and meet & greet packages with tickets starting at just $35 per person. It all starts at 6 p.m. on December 31 and lasts through 1 a.m.
