Here's a list of the most exciting holiday events taking place on July 4 around our Springs San Antonio luxury apartment communities. 

1. 4th of July Celebration

The biggest party in town is San Antonio's official Independence Day celebration, which is a day full of fun for the whole family. Get your workout in with Zumba or a half-mile walk, take a whirl on carnival rides or a mechanical bull, dine on delicious food from more than two dozen vendors, and hit the stage for some line dancing. The event begins at 8 a.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m., and admission is free.

Is there a more appropriate place to observe our rich tradition of freedom? Activities include readings of the Declaration of Independence, living history demonstrations with photo ops, and a performance from the Heart of Texas Band. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and there is no charge for admission.

3. 4th of July Spectacular

New Braunfels hosts its holiday celebration on the beautiful tree-studded grounds of Landa Park. Make a day of it by bringing a picnic lunch and playing miniature golf, volleyball or horseshoes, and tour the spectacular arboretum that is home to more than 80 species of trees. There will also be a live concert at 6:30 p.m. leading up to the fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

San Antonio's favorite family destination makes a perfect backdrop for a stunning fireworks display. Enjoy the show with a general admission ticket, or choose upgrade options that include reserved seating and an all-you-can-eat hors d'oeuvres buffet or chef-prepared picnic dinner. Park hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and you can receive a discount when you purchase tickets online.

If you're a fireworks enthusiast, don't miss the largest display in the area at Six Flags. In addition to the fireworks show at 9:15 p.m., sponsor Coca-Cola will offer product samples, games and prizes in Crackaxle Canyon. Present a can of any Coca-Cola product with your ticket and receive early admission to select rides. Park hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and tickets are discounted when you purchase online.
