Kick Off Super Bowl Sunday at 5 Great Sports Bars in San Antonio

Meet your friends on Sunday, February 5 at one of these great bars near our Springs San Antonio luxury apartment communities.

1. San Antonio Flying Saucer

While taking in the big game at the Flying Saucer, you can begin your quest to become a BEERKNURD®. The $18 membership fee gets you a t-shirt and magnetic card to swipe each time you try one of the bar's 200 varieties of beer. Finish them all to join Ring of Honor and score some cool swag. Sunday hours are noon until midnight.

2. Yard House

Add some global flair to your Super Bowl viewing at the Yard House. The menu combines flavors from around the world with casual bar-style dishes such as Cuban roast pork dip, crispy duck wings and spicy Thai chicken pizza. Dozens of microbrews and foreign beers on tap include the Chalkboard Series, a rotating list of featured brews. Yard House also has a location at River Walk, and Sunday hours at both are 11 a.m. until midnight.

3. The Lion & Rose

Great food and drink plus several flat-screen plasma TVs landed The Lion & Rose on FourSquare's list of 10 best sports bars in San Antonio. The British pub-style menu includes traditional dishes such as shepherd's pie and Scotch eggs, along with Stateside favorites such as chicken wings and BBQ meatloaf sandwich. Come early for brunch, which is served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Food is served until midnight while the bar is open until 2 a.m.

4. Stout House

With more than 20 craft beers on tap and the same amount of HDTVs, Stout House is a football fan's dream. The community-style seating provides an intimate, homey feel and complimentary food is served beginning at noon on football Sundays. Skip the halftime show and enjoy a game of darts, pool or beer pong. Stout House is open from noon until 2 a.m. seven days a week.

5. Faust Brewing Co.

When it comes to beer, food and sports, how can you go wrong at a German-themed bar? Faust features a number of local and imported beers as well as unique styles from their own brewery. Your drink will go down even better with an order of their signature German nachos, which are potato chips topped with bratwurst, sautéed peppers and onions, sauerkraut and beer cheese sauce. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. until midnight.
