(February 13, 2018)

Valentine's Day in San AntonioWith Valentine's Day quickly approaching, you might be wondering how you can make the day special for that someone special. While there's always the standby of a romantic dinner at a new or favorite restaurant followed by a movie or dancing, San Antonio also home to a smattering of ways can make Valentine's Day 2018 the most memorable one yet. Check out our suggestions of things to do in San Antonio below for some ideas to get you started.

1. Go for a Romantic Tandem Bike Ride

San Antonio BCycle provides bikes for rent so you and that someone special can see the San Antonio sites from a different perspective. With bikes and docks in multiple locations scattered throughout the downtown area, San Antonio BCycle makes it easy to grab a two-wheeler and explore the city. They provide suggested routes or head out on your own. The San Antonio BCycle app makes it simple to manage your Valentine's Day experience.

2. San Antonio Missions

In San Antonio, we are surrounded by a unique history and culture that begs to be explored and enjoyed. The San Antonio Missions are the perfect example of the two elements melding together in spectacular fashion. The hike and bike trail connects the San Antonio River to four missions that are steeped in history and charm. The Mission Riverwalk Trail isn't a loop and your journey can be started at any of the four missions for a round-trip adventure of six miles. To enjoy all four missions, count on a round trip of about 16 miles.

3. Mingle with Arts and Culture

Head to the San Antonio Botanical Garden for a romantic environment that beats anything conjured up by man. This lush gem features 38 diverse acres of gardens, trails, paths and, of course, flowers. Stop in for a shared meal at Anne Marie's Carriage House Bistro or pack a picnic for a more private celebration. Take in the range of experiences that are available in one convenient spot -- from the peaceful Japanese garden to the starkly-modern architecture offered by the Lucile Halsell Conservatory -- for a truly memorable Valentine's Day.

4. Take a Ghost Tour

Join the Sisters Grimm for their special Valentine's Day Ghost Tours that start with a sumptuous three-course meal inside the Menger Hotel, one of the country's most haunted hotels. You and your date will hear goosebump raising ghost stories about the  Menger Hotel and tour inside. After dining by candlelight, you'll have two options available: you can either hop aboard the Ghost Bus or take a Haunted Ghost Walk throughout the city. Either way, you'll be treated to more spine-tingling ghost tales.
