1. Sherlock's Baker St. Pub
16620 US 281
San Antonio

You won't need a detective to find "Let's Get Shamrocked," billed as the biggest block party in town. The pub will be serving Irish eats along with traditional green beer. Live music will be featured starting at 3 p.m. and running until the wee hours of the morning. Headliners and local favorites, The Klocks, will bring their energetic top-40 covers and amazing light show to the stage at 10 p.m.

2. Conroy's Irish Pub
9091 Fair Oaks Pkwy
Fair Oaks Ranch

Conroy's casual ambiance makes it a great place to spend St. Patrick's Day. The pub is known for its friendly, helpful staff who serve classic bar favorites like a build-your-own-burger and chicken wings in six different flavors. Check out the game on one of their big-screen TVs or enjoy a lively match of pool or darts. Conroy's is family-friendly, so bring the kids along.

3. The Lion and Rose
Various Locations

The handmade wood decor, etched glass and other details will have you thinking you've been transported to the Emerald Isle. Pair some hearty corned beef and cabbage with a pint of Smithwick or Harp. The Forum location, less than two miles from Springs at Live Oak, features live Celtic music beginning at 7:30 p.m. followed by an open mic at 10 p.m. It's also Ladies Night at all Lion and Rose locations, including the Rim, a 10-minute drive from Springs at Bandera.

4. Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub & Eatery
234 River Walk
San Antonio

When it comes to Irish pubs, it doesn't get more authentic than Waxy's on the River Walk. The entire pub was crafted in Ireland and painstakingly shipped to the United States, where the container ship had to wait out Hurricane Rita before unloading its delicate cargo. Live music is provided by Joe Walmsley, a British native performing a mix of original songs, covers and traditional Irish tunes.

5. Harp & Shamrock Irish Festival
4301 Broadway (UIWCampus)
San Antonio

So one day of partying isn't enough? The Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas has got you covered with their Irish Festival on Saturday, March 19, from noon until 8 p.m. The event kicks off with a parade, followed by a day of Irish food, drink, music and dancing. Tickets are $5 at the gate.
