City of San Antonio Department for Culture & Creative Development

Arts and culture are important elements of the fabric of a community, and San Antonio is no exception. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, and DCCD's mission is to nurture local creativity and make it accessible to the public. Their website has a calendar of current events along with information about the facilities they maintain, including La Villita and Market Square.

San Antonio City Search

Whether you need renters insurance or a new haircut, City Search is your go-to guide. It will quickly locate restaurants, retail stores and services as well as show you money-saving deals at local businesses.

San Antonio Library

If you think a library is just a place for checking out books, you're in for a pleasant surprise. At the 27 branches of the San Antonio library you can look for a job, get tutoring for your kids, check out a laptop, learn software programs and enjoy events like movies, presentations and performing arts.

TxDOT - Texas Department of Transportation

TxDOT has a number of resources to get you road-ready in no time. In addition to updating your driver's license, you will find information about Texas driving laws, road safety tips and maps of the state and its largest cities. When you're ready to hit the road, check the website for traffic cam pictures, highway conditions and rest area information.

The River Walk

One of your first excursions should be to San Antonio's signature attraction. The River Walk is a public park alongside the San Antonio River that is open 365 days a year. Its pedestrian path downtown is lined with dozens of boutiques, restaurants, hotels and other attractions. The full 15-mile trail has hiking, biking and paddling routes that offer access to missions and parks along the way.

The State of Texas

It's hard to sum up this big, beautiful state in a website, but Texas.gov does an admirable job. You'll find information on everything from vehicle registration to industry-specific licensing to how to get social media updates.
