Quirky or different ways to celebrate Valentine's Day in SW Florida

1. Head to Lovers Key

As if the name of this state park isn't romantic enough, it's also the site of the 9th Annual Valentine's Day Vow Renewal. Just 39 other couples at this ceremony that takes place in the Lovers Key State Park gazebo right on the beach. This event requires pre-registration and costs $100 per couple. Choose 10 AM, 1 PM or 4 PM and enjoy romantic and delicious amenities such as dancing, a catered meal courtesy of Truly Scrumptious, photo opportunities, socializing desserts, door prizes, a champagne toast and more. A portion of your fee will go toward the park's Welcome and Discovery Center Fund that's designed to make the space better for everyone. 

2. Enjoy the Picturesque Calusa Blueway

For a truly romantic and memorable Valentine's Day, pack a picnic lunch, rent a tandem kayak and meander along the nearly 200-mile long Calusa Blueway in search of a sparsely-populated coastal island onto which to make landfall. You won't find many crowds along this watery trail, making it the perfect way to enjoy some privacy on this most romantic of days. With lots of out-of-the-way sugar-sand beaches and picture-perfect mangrove gardens, it's the perfect way to spend the day with someone you love. 

3. Picnic in the Garden

Naples Botanical Garden that is! Sprawled across 170 acres, the six gorgeous gardens -- as well as a nature preserve -- ensure that you'll find the perfect spot for you and your beloved to picnic in lush and peaceful privacy. In addition to the beautiful foliage on display through the garden, a visit here also provides highlights of the particular cultures that are featured as well.
