5 Ways to Add Color to Your Bradenton or Sarasota Apartment

Adding_Color.jpgIf you want to make your Bradenton or Sarasota apartment home truly personal and cozy, consider adding splashes of color around the space. If you aren't up for painting, you can add color in several ways. Here are six creative options to make your apartment home colorful and inviting.

1. Invest in Art (or DIY It)

Artwork on the walls is one of the easiest ways to brighten up your apartment home. If you don't want to invest in art, consider making some of your own. A canvas, some paint and some geometric designs are all it takes to add color to your space, so hit up Pinterest for inspiration or sign up for a painting party and make your own piece of art!

2. Add Some Throw Pillows

Throw pillows are a great option for adding color because they’re bright, colorful, and easy to change when your tastes change. They also make your couch or chair just a bit more comfy. Consider getting pillows with covers that you can change if you like to mix things up a bit, so you don't always have to store a pile of pillows.

3. Use Fabric

Instead of painting your walls, drape them with colorful fabric. You’ll be able to change the look as needed and not have to worry about permanent changes to your wall color, all while enjoying a colorful, personalized look to your space. Not ready to add an entire wall of fabric? Then grab a colorful throw blanket to toss over your chair or couch that coordinates with your throw pillows.

4. Use Flowers

Flowers, either fresh or faux, can be a great way to add color and interest to your space. Bright yellow daisies or sunflowers, or brilliant pink roses and bright purple mums, for instance, can draw attention exactly where you want it in your home, all while adding that splash of color you crave.

5. Invest in Colorful Furniture

If you want to go big with your color additions, consider adding a colorful piece of furniture. Whether it's a bright blue bookcase, a vibrant red couch or a rustic chair you refinish in a fun lime green color, this will make your apartment interesting while maintaining the function of the space. You can also breathe new life into an old piece of furniture with a slip cover or fresh coat of paint in a bright color you love.
