3 Ways to Stay Entertained During the 'Dog Days of Summer' in Liberty Township and West Chester

August 11, 2016

Staying-Entertained-Cincinnati.jpgWe're right in the height of the dog days of summer, where the days are long and the sun is scorching. While it's tempting to hide out in your air conditioned apartment home, you could be missing out on some top-notch entertainment in the area. To help you beat the heat and stay entertained, here are three of our favorite summer activities in Liberty Township and West Chester:

Rewind Wednesdays Movies Under Moonlight
Liberty Center Park
7100 Foundry Row
Liberty Township

Summer temperatures are much more enjoyable in the evening, so why not catch a movie under the stars? Liberty Center is hosting a free "flashback" movie every Wednesday night through the end of September with family-friendly flicks such as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, The Wizard of Oz, and Hocus Pocus. While movies begin at dusk, be sure to pack a picnic and arrive early as there will be pre-movie entertainment for the kiddos.

Sounds of Summer on the Square
Liberty Center Park
7100 Foundry Row
Liberty Township

You can catch a free live concert every Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m. on The Square at Liberty Center. The free concert series runs through the end of August and features just about every genre of music, from jazz to top 40 hits to country. Bring a lawn chair and relax to the sounds of the music or wear your dancing shoes for a swinging good time.

Lake Butler Fishing Lake
7505 W Chester Rd
West Chester

If you want to have a successful day of fishing, you need to check out Lake Butler Fishing Lake. This lake is stocked with catfish and carp, and there's typically a fishing tournament every weekend open for anyone to participate. This is a great place to take the kids to teach them the art of fishing, or it can be equally as enjoyable if you go it alone.
