The 4th of July is one of the rare holidays that's intended to be celebrated outdoors, and there's no shortage of fun and festive activities around our Springs Cincinnati luxury apartment communities.

4th of July 5K and Parade

Start the day bright and early with an invigorating 5K run or walk at 8 a.m., then relax and enjoy the holiday parade beginning at 10 a.m. The race starts and finishes at the high school, while the parade begins there and ends at Liberty Park. The entry fee for the race is $20 during pre-registration and $25 day of the race. Awards go the top three finishers in each age division.
Northside Rock N' Roll Carnival

Do you prefer more untraditional holiday celebrations? The Northside Rock N' Roll Carnival is two days of food, beer, vendor booths, burlesque, sideshows and yes, rock and roll. Activities are scheduled for July 3 and 4 with free admission for all.

This annual event in Blue Ash features the biggest fireworks display in the tri-state area. Gates open at 4 p.m., but you can begin setting up blankets and lawn chairs as early as 7 a.m. In addition to food and kids' activities, there will be live entertainment provided by The Steel Woods at 5:30 p.m. and headliners REO Speedwagon at 8:15 p.m., followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. Admission is free for all guests.

Get a head start on the holiday at Fairfield's 4th of July celebration, a festival of live music, games, food vendors and fireworks at four different viewing locations. Admission at launch site Harbin Park and Village Green is free. Enjoy fishing at Marsh Lake or lounge poolside at the Aquatic Center for only a $5 fee. Festivities kick off at dusk on Monday, July 3.

This year Independence Day coincides with the 150th birthday of Fort Thomas, a city that was originally a U.S. Army post in 1890. The week-long sesquicentennial extravaganza runs Sunday, July 2 to Saturday, July 8, and the 4th of July is a day packed full of fun starting at 7:30 a.m. Activities include a 5K run, parade, tug of war, mustache and beard contest, cornhole tournament, hot dog and donut eating contests and live music, culminating with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Visit the website for details and locations.
