Des Moines is filled with many unique stores that can make your shopping trip a unique experience! From boutique clothing stores to picking out your favorite vinyl, you don't have to head to a big busy shopping mall to find your favorite items.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, why not check out one of these local stores?

Aimee
426 East Locust Street

If you’re looking for a women's boutique that carries a beautiful line of European clothing, Aimee should be your first destination. This wonderful little boutique can be found in the West Village and offers complementary champagne as you shop. Beware that if you are shopping on a Sunday that the store may be closed, they advertise their Sunday hours as "by chance."

Bargain Basket
315 East 6th Street

This is a boutique with a difference. You’ll find gently used designer clothes for everyone in the family. All proceeds go to the outreach programs of the Junior League of Des Moines, so not only can you find great bargains here, but you can also help make a difference in the community. The store is open Monday through Saturday and hours vary.

Cathy's Mercantile Antiques and Collectibles
110 5th Street
West Des Moines

If you’re looking for a specialty store that deals in antiques and collectibles you’ll want to check out Cathy's Mercantile Antiques. Walk into the store and you’ll see rows upon rows of collectibles. You may even find that missing piece you’ve been looking for to fill your own collection.

zzz Records
2200 Ingersoll Avenue

A fan of all things vinyl? Then zzz Records is a great place to spend hours searching through the buckets of records. Reasonable prices and a mix of both old and new records can be found, just make sure you have plenty of time to search out the one you’re looking for.

Ephemera Stationery Studio
505 East Locust Street

Whether you’re looking for a special birthday card or needing wedding invites, this paper boutique located in the East Village Shopping district offers everything you could need. Closed Monday and Sunday, this is a great place to stop and just browse all of the wonderful handmade stationery.
