Fall is in the air and that means that it won't be long before the ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and even zombies will be gathering for some spine-tingling party-time. So, don't wait until the last minute to get your Halloween costume. Here are some options not too far from our Springs Apartment community where you can find some great costumes.

Nobbies Party Store
9999 University Avenue, Clive

This funky place has everything you need, whether you’re going to a great party or throwing one. You can get costumes, party supplies, decorations and other accessories to make your night spooktacular.

Halloween Express
Merle Hay Mall

Just up the road at Merle Hay Mall you can find everything you need to become Elsa from Frozen, a 1920s gangster or even a slinky kitty cat. Halloween Express will let you add just the right extras to make your costume go from kind of neat to amazingly cool.

Party City
6925 Mills Civic Parkway

Another option for parties or costumes is Party City on Mills Civic Parkway. From black balloons and orange streamers to headstones and skeletons, this place has what you need to celebrate Halloween in style. They also carry all of the newest costumes to outfit trick-or-treaters of all ages.

Encore Thrift Stores
50 East Army Post Road

Why not let your imagination run wild and come up with something no one else can buy? Thrift stores are chock-full of low-cost items that if put together properly can make one killer costume. Run by a nonprofit organization, Encore Thrift Stores (one here on Army Post Road and on in Urbandale) has a wide range of items for sale. The only downside is you may get distracted by a really great find and forget what kind of costume you’re looking for.

Salvation Army
105 East Euclid

Another option is the Salvation Army, an organization very skilled at running quality thrift stores. You can outfit yourself in a Halloween costume using regular items and a little creativity. And while you’re at it you could also gather some old things from your closet before going Halloween shopping and donate them to help out this great organization.

Halloween is a wonderful time to try out another side of you. Get to one of these places and slip into your alter ego.
