Asuka Sushi & Hibachi uses the freshest, highest quality ingredients, and as a result every dish you order is a true experience. Chiba is a Japanese restaurant with a somewhat upscale atmosphere, making it a good choice for a special occasion dinner or date night. They're known for their sushi rolls, and their sashimi selection is one of the best in the city. Customers also rave about the sake; they offer an array of selections and the bar staff will help you find something that suits your taste, even if you're not typically a sake drinker.
If you're not in the mood for sushi, try the chicken katsu, a Hawaiian creation that consists of marinated, breaded chicken topped with a sweet barbecue sauce.
3. Pho Tau Bay 1656 Tulane Ave 30 minutes from Springs at Fremaux Town Center
Pho is a Vietnamese soup made with hot broth, meat or seafood, and veggies, and it's certainly the specialty at Pho Tau Bay. The restaurant opened in 1982 and has been pleasing the palates of New Orleans residents ever since. On the menu, you'll also find other Vietnamese dishes like Banh Mi, a spicy sandwich served on fresh bread, and Goi Cuon, which are spring rolls stuffed with shrimp, pork, and fresh herbs.
4. Red's Chinese 3048 St. Claude Ave 35 minutes from Springs at Fremaux Town Center
If you're in the mood for some great Chinese takeout, there's no better choice than Red's Chinese. They're open seven days a week until 11 p.m., and their menu includes all of the classics like general's chicken, egg rolls, and crab rangoon. You can enjoy your meal in their small, yet friendly dining room, or opt for takeout or delivery.
Ming's is another outstanding option for Chinese food. Their green pepper steak and lo mein dishes get rave reviews, and they even offer Chinese ice cream flavors like Azuki red bean. Enjoy your meal on their outdoor porch or in the nicely decorated dining room, where you can have Happy Hour appetizer and drink specials from 4 to 6 p.m. on weeknights.
