Covington

Annadelle's Plantation Restaurant

This genuine plantation home is the perfect setting for a romantic afternoon or evening out. French and Creole styles meet on the varied menu, which includes gumbo or turtle soup, shrimp, oysters, and gratin and fried green tomatoes with sauteed jumbo lump crabmeat. Gallagher's Grill

The four-star rated Gallagher's Grill is Covington's premier steakhouse. Opened by Chef Pat Gallagher in 2007, the restaurant is a 2015 Diner's Choice winner. Known for its mouth-watering steaks, Gallagher's also offers slow-cooked spare ribs and stuffed chicken among its regular entrees. Ask about the pompano — Chef Pat's signature dish. The restaurant will be serving on Valentine's Day lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Slidell

Copeland's

New Orleans-inspired fare rules at Copeland's, which opened its doors in 1983, serving Creole favorites such as gumbo, crab-stuffed catfish roulade and jambalaya. The distinctive tastes of Southern Louisiana are carried through in other menu items, such as pasta, seafood, steaks and salads. Copeland's will serve from the regular menu on Valentine's Day, but reservations are recommended. Don't forget to top the meal off with red velvet cheesecake — the special Valentine's Day dessert. 

Michael's Restaurant and Lounge

In business for more than 35 years, Michael's is known for its prime steaks and fresh seafood. Recognized as one of 2011's Best Chefs in Louisiana by the American Culinary Federation, Chef Michael Frederic has overseen the evolution of Michael's into a four-star dining establishment. Try Oysters Rockefeller, or the chef's signature roast duckling. Michael's also offers the premier drinking spot in Slidell: view the waterfront from a comfy seat at the bar, while drinking a toast to the one you love.
