There’s nothing like a fresh cup of coffee to help fuel you through a busy day but it’s not always convenient to brew your own cup of Joe at your apartment. Luckily, there are a variety of awesome, independent coffee shops scattered around the New Orleans area. Try one or more of these excellent options:

1. Café at the Square
500 St. Charles Avenue

With an upbeat atmosphere and vibrant wall décor, Café at the Square is an awesome place to get together with friends for a steaming cup of coffee and a catch-up session. Located adjacent to Lafayette Park, you’ll find it convenient to get a little walking exercise in once you’re fueled up by a fresh espresso or latte. In addition to coffee, this trendy little café offers up an amazing menu selection including dishes such as Irish oatmeal, sourdough French toast, and personalized omelets.

2. Addiction Coffee House
1009-1015 N. Claiborn Avenue

Just steps from the Saint Hotel in the French Quarter you’ll find a cute little coffee house that caters to all kinds of caffeine addictions. Whether you’re inclined to enjoy triple lattes laced with chocolate or slow dripped coffee with a splash of cream, you’ll find it at the Addiction Coffee House. All ingredients used in each cup of coffee are locally derived whenever possible to ensure that every sip is as fresh as a sunny day.

3. St. Roch Market
2381 St. Claude Avenue

Established in 1875, the St. Roch Market is a venue made up of 13 separate vendors that represent coastal food menus as well as local and exotic coffee options. This open-air market operates daily between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., so you can grab a cup of Joe along with a filling meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Live music is sometimes featured during the evening, providing a vibrant atmosphere that encourages the forging of new friendships.

4. District: Hand Pie and Coffee Bar
5637 Magazine Street

At this prestigious coffee bar you can expect to find meat and fruit pies made from scratch to go with a fresh cup of brew. The environment here is quiet enough to spend hours in the corner reading a good book, but a family-like atmosphere can be easily created by bringing along a deck of cards to play on one of District’s spacious tables.

5. CC's Coffee House
1331 N. Highway 190, Covington

This chain of coffee shops knows Louisiana because they are from Louisiana. With a passion for serving their customers, they aim to be at the center of every community in which they operate.

Of course, any article about New Orleans coffee houses would not be complete without mention of Cafe du Monde and its inimitable beignets, but each of these coffee shops offers its own unique environment to enjoy, so check them all out to see which meet your specific needs the most. You may find that you enjoy frequenting all of them!

If you’re looking for someplace close to your Springs home, Starbucks is within walking distance of both Springs at Fremaux Town Center or Springs at River Chase. And don’t forget, as a Springs Apartments resident you can have coffee from the coffee bar in the clubhouse. Be sure to stop in and enjoy a cup, along with some free Wi-Fi.
