5 Memorable Ways to Celebrate Mom on Mother’s Day in Oklahoma City

There are activities throughout Oklahoma City that will help you prepare gifts and plan some fun for all the mothers in your life. Here are five of our favorites.

1. Hand Bouquet Painting for Mom

On Saturday, May 13, head to the Science Museum Oklahoma. Here, children can participate in a free craft activity that will help them make a special gift. Each child will paint a flower bouquet using their unique handprints to create a memento for mom. The activity is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Museum admission is required.

2. Oklahoma Orchid Society’s Mother’s Day Orchid Show
3400 NW 36th St

On May 13 and 14, the Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center is hosting a free orchid show and sale. You can see hundreds of orchids and even take some home to cherish yourself. You’ll find vendors from Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma selling live plants as well as themed artwork and accessories. Door prizes, a silent auction and raffles add to the fun.

3. Mama’s Day at Wheeler Ferris Wheel
1701 S Western Ave

Wheeler Ferris Wheel is hosting a special event just for moms and their families on Saturday, May 13. Activities include an interactive puppet show at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Children can also make a free upcycled flower craft for mom.

4. Mother’s Day at Orr Family Farm
14400 S Western St

Head to the farm with mom for a special Mother’s Day. The Orr Farm offers a wealth of family-friendly activities including a zip line, train rides, petting zoo and gemstone mining. On May 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., moms get in free! Tickets for other family members are $11.50 per person.

5. Mother’s Day Brunch at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

The Sam Noble Events Center at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is hosting a delicious Mother’s Day Brunch on May 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You’ll find a full buffet featuring carving stations, salads, fresh vegetables and desserts. Tickets for brunch are $35.
