Hit the Douglas State Trail

The Douglas State Trail sits about 15 miles north of the Springs at South Broadway. Get out and enjoy the Minnesota air. There’s no charge to use the paved 12.5 mile trail that winds through some of the region's most scenic areas. The trail begins in Rochester and ends in nearby Pine Island. It’s a multi-use trail, great for walking, jogging, or riding bikes. There’s also an adjacent trail for horseback riding.

Make an Escape

The Med City Escape is one of Rochester’s premier escape room facilities. Located on Second Street just minutes from the Mayo Clinic, the Med City Escape provides unique fun for anyone who enjoys a puzzle. Designed for all abilities and 100-percent handicap accessible, there are three rooms with different stories/challenge levels. You have 60 minutes to escape. You’ll have to work with your teammates to figure out the clues, solve the problems, and make your escape. The Med City Escape is open on Tuesday evenings from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visit the Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery

About 20 miles south of the Springs at South Broadway is the Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery. The winery has a six-acre vineyard and is home to Four Daughters wines, Sunflake wines, and Loon Juice cider. Relax on Tax Day with a wine-tasting, Four Daughters is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The sprawling vineyards and winery also include a restaurant, so plan to stay for a meal. The menu changes daily so there's always something new and exciting to try.

Retail Therapy at Apache Mall

The Apache Mall sits approximately three miles northwest of the Springs apartments in south Rochester. Open on Tuesday and other weekdays from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., it’s a convenient place for a bit of retail therapy on Tax Day. Shop one of the national retail stores, find a treasure at a boutique shop, and get something delicious to eat in the food court.

Indulge at the Healing Touch Spa

After the stress and strain of filing your taxes, take some time for yourself and indulge in a massage, body wrap, or exfoliating scrub at the Healing Touch Spa.
