5 Things Every Southwest Florida Resident Should Do This Fall

1. Hispanic Heritage Festival & 5K

If you've been working hard to get in shape all summer, this is your chance to show off your fitness. The 5K run begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, and the festival continues throughout the day with live music, food, and celebrations of Hispanic culture. Registration for the 5K is $25, and proceeds go to benefit the Multicultural Center, Abuse Counseling Treatment Inc., and Amigo Center.

2. Cicque Du Soleil
September 28-October 2

Estero, FL

If you've never seen this contemporary circus before, be prepared to be stunned by the remarkable talents of acrobats and other performers who create spectacular sensations beneath technicolored lights. This show's theme is OVO, a performance which brings you into a colorful ecosystem teeming with insects whose world changes when a colorful egg drops into their midst.

3. Cape Coral Bike Night

Cape Coral, FL

Bike Night has become a tradition in Cape Coral, with long-time locals and newcomers joining together to celebrate with their motorcycles, great food, and live entertainment from 5 to 10 p.m. If you have your own bike, bring it along, or just stroll in to have fun in this lively environment. There will be live bands on two main stages, bike games in the Harley-Davidson Slow Bike Race Arena, and vendors selling the latest gear.

4. Peter Frampton

Frampton will coming to the Artis-Naples Event Center on Saturday, October 8 to play a show starting at 8 p.m. This English rock legend has been performing live since the 1960s, and still has a remarkable stage presence. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual listener, this is a remarkable opportunity to rock the night away to some classic hits like "All Night Long" and "Which Way the Wind Blows."

5. Cape Coral Coconut Festival
November 10-13
Sun Splash Family Waterpark
400 Santa Barbara Blvd
Cape Coral, FL

At this family-friendly festival, you can enjoy the waterpark's carnival  and water rides, along with traditional carnival games and fireworks. Food vendors will serve up American favorites from chicken wings to funnel cakes, and live bands including 38 Special will take the stage. The festival runs from November 10 to 13. Admission is free on Thursday, November 10, and only $7 the remaining days of the festival.
