When the weekend comes along and you want more than cereal and milk, a relaxed brunch at one of Fort Myers unique restaurants is well in order. Check out these fun eateries close to our apartment community and discover how to start your weekend right.

CRaVE
12901 McGregor Blvd

For made-to-order, down-home food, head over to CRaVE Restaurant where breakfast service stretches all the way through lunch. Dig into some shrimp and grits made with Gulf shrimp and cheddar grits, or salmon and eggs made your favorite way. For omelet lovers, CRaVE offers 8 different choices including tomato and mozzarella. Of course, if you think the perfect brunch food is Eggs Benedict then this is your kind of place. You can get it made the traditional way or the CRaVE way with filet mignon, crab meat and asparagus. It is enough to leave you, well, craving more.

Lighthouse Waterfront Restaurant
14301 Port Comfort

If your brunch dreams include warm lobster bisque paired with a complimentary mimosa while enjoying the warm sunshine and soft breezes, then the Lighthouse Waterfront Restaurant is your morning nirvana. Located at the Port Sanibel Marina, this restaurant has a fantastic outdoor porch that seems to add an extra flavor palate to the food. Dig into an order of biscuits and gravy with eggs or the quiche of the day. Or really do brunch right with the Lighthouse omelet made with andouille sausage, cheddar cheese, avocado and alfalfa sprouts.

Flippers on the Bay
8771 Estero Blvd

Do you take your eggs with a side of wind and water? Then Flippers on the Bay is your place for brunch. Named one of the 10 Best Brunch Places by 10Best.com, this bayside eatery offers basic breakfast classics alongside a list of creative offerings by Chef Juan Cruz. For a dish more akin to dessert than breakfast, request the strawberry beret: cereal-encrusted brioche pan fried with fresh strawberries and sweet whipped cream. Or take your taste buds a little south of the border with the Lovers Key breakfast tacos, in which scrambled eggs, Spanish chorizo, Pico de Gallo and special salsa come together to take your breakfast to a whole new level.

Mimi's Cafe
Bell Tower Avenue

With name like Mimi's Cafe and offerings such as chicken and waffles, you may think you have landed at your grandmother's table. Start the weekend over a plate of turkey bacon, mushroom and brie crepes or fill your belly with an order of lemon poppyseed waffles and you’ll find out just how wonderful brunch out can be.

So, don't waste a good Saturday morning at the drive-through. Make your way to a one of these fabulous restaurants and ease into the weekend with a happy smile.
