1. Django
210 10th St

Nobody does romance like the French, so celebrate l'amour at Django, a restaurant that advertises itself as "all French — no attitude." Enjoy classic dishes such as steak frites or duck cassoulet, several gratin dishes, tuna nicoise, artisan cheese plates and fresh seafood. Plus you can bring your own wine — there's no corkage fee.

2. Centro
1003 Locust St

One of Des Moines' favorite restaurants, Centro has been providing a unique downtown dining experience since opening in 2001. Italian-inspired, the food is fresh and masterfully prepared by Chef George Formaro. Choose a bottle of fine wine or a signature cocktail to celebrate love and romance.  Don’t have a date? Centro is a great place for a casual Valentine's Day get-together with your best friends as well.

3. Bistro Montage
2724 Ingersoll Ave

Be prepared to enjoy a few of the better things in life at Bistro Montage. A classic French bistro, the restaurant’s small, quiet atmosphere lends itself to a romantic evening. The menu includes traditional and contemporary fare as well as distinctive cocktails and a wide selection of wines.

4. Christopher's
2816 Beaver Ave

A Des Moines tradition for 50 years, this notable Italian-American restaurant offers a long weekend of Valentine-inspired dining. On Friday and Saturday (Feb. 12 and 13), enjoy dinner from 5 to 11 p.m., and on Sunday (Feb. 14) make reservations to dine between 5 to 8:30 p.m. With menu choices that include a wide selection of Italian dishes, chicken, steaks, seafood and thin-crust pizza, you’re sure to find a tasty option to enjoy with your special someone.
