Places_To_Watch_March_Madness_DM.jpgWith the first and second rounds of March Madness passing through Des Moines, it's an exciting time for local basketball fans! One of the best things about our Springs Apartments communities is how close they are to shopping, restaurants, entertainment venues, and yes, places to watch the tournament.

Des Moines

1. Francie's
2100 Wakonda View Dr

Plenty of televisions and a casual atmosphere make Francie's a great place to watch March Madness. The walls are covered in old sports prints, and the food portions are impressive. Customer favorites include the Philly cheese steak, French dip, and their large selection of brews.

2. Beaver Tap
4050 Urbandale Ave

Beaver Tap sports bar is known for its stellar prices and friendly staff. If you manage to catch the games on tournament-opening Tuesday, you'll get to enjoy "$2 Tuesdays" — $2 drinks and $2 tacos. You'll also be able to watch the tournament on one of the three flat screen TVs, while keeping Beaver Tap’s free popcorn at the ready.

3. Trophy's Sports Bar & Grill
2701 Douglas Ave

The game-watching energy is high at Trophy's Sports Bar & Grill. It's attached to a bowling alley and boasts tons of TVs, including a 27-foot projection screen for big games. If weather permits, you might even want to enjoy the outdoor patio and volleyball court between games. Regardless, you'll relish the great selection of beers and fun atmosphere at Trophy’s.

Waukee

4. Saints Pub
87 NE Carefree Ln

Have you ever tried the fried pickles at Saints Pub in Waukee? If not, you might want to gather some friends, order your favorite brew and give the Saints Pub specialty a try. With plenty of TVs for everyone, there isn’t a bad seat in the house for watching the NCAA tournament action. Plus, it’s just 3 minutes from Springs at Waukee.

5. The Kee
360 6th St

The Kee is not only open late so you can catch all of your favorite games, but it also serves breakfast Wednesdays through Sundays. The large-screen TVs and well-stocked bar makes The Kee a prime place to take in the excitement of March Madness.
