Hill House is presenting an evening of classic 19th-century poems from noted authors such as Dickinson, Longfellow and Browning, read by actors dressed in 1890’s evening wear. Showtime is 7 p.m. and tickets may be purchased on their website for $12.

3. The Hitching Company

Snuggle up to your sweetheart on a charming horse-drawn carriage tour through the historic streets and sights of Minneapolis. The one-hour ride departs from Nicollet Island Inn and follows the Mississippi River as it passes local landmarks such as the Stone Arch Bridge, Guthrie Theater and St. Anthony Falls. The price is $126, or you can select a 30-minute ride for $72.
