This past year, Minneapolis leapfrogged Washington, D.C. as the "Most Literate City" in the U.S. according to USA Today, with St. Paul not far behind at #4. Outstanding library systems were a major factor in both rankings. All three systems provide eBook lending along with a variety of educational and social activities such as book clubs, tutoring services and job search assistance.

Mall of America (Twin Cities)

You don't have to be a power shopper to enjoy a trip to one of the Twin Cities' most beloved attractions. Its 40 million annual visitors include tourists who come from all around the world. Mayo Clinic (Rochester)

Rochester is the home base of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2014. Each year more than 1 million people from all 50 states and more than 140 countries come to the clinic for treatment. The staff of nearly 60,000 includes top physicians and researchers in all specialties, and the complex includes a prestigious medical school that admits a select group of 46 students each year from more than 4,500 applicants.
