Best Ways to Celebrate Fido's Day in Rochester, MN

Dogs are an integral part of life for many people who live in Rochester MN. Saturday, August 26 has been designated as National Dog Day. We've rounded up some fun activities that you and your pooch can do together around the city to celebrate Fidos day. 

1. Roscoe's Root Beer & Ribs 

At Roscoe's Root Beer & Ribs, their walk-up service and cluster of cozy tables out front make it easy for you to enjoy ribs, burgers and brisket with your canine pal. Saturday's hours at Roscoe's Root Beer & Ribs are 11 AM until 8 PM, making it the perfect place to share -- ahem! eat -- lunch and/or dinner with your furry friend. 

2. Jean & Carl Frank Canine Park

With two locations -- one at W. Circle Drive and the other at Pinewood Road SE -- the Jean & Carl Frank Canine Park is overseen by Rochester Parks & Recreation. You and your furry friend can enjoy amenities such as an obstacle course, separate small dog area, off-leash area, water spigot, restrooms and more -- all within the safe confines of a fence. Just make sure that your dog is fully vaccinated and properly licensed before you head out. Don't forget to bring supplies to clean up after your pet. 

Another dog park that is also maintained by Rochester Parks & Recreation is River Road Park. This park is located on West River Road NW. 

3. Quarry Hill Nature Center

Quarry Hill Nature Center is a 320-acre park with hiking and paved paths that meander through it. Wind your way through the 20-acre oak savanna and get back to nature with your pet. You can also explore fossil beds, a pond and recreational fields while celebrating Fidos day with your leashed dog.
