You love going out to eat, but you also love the dog you share your Fort Myers apartment with. So where can you take your furry best friend when you are looking for a delicious lunch? There are several choices in town. Here are just a few of our favorites:

Blue Pointe Oyster Bar and Seafood Bar
South Cleveland Avenue

When the siren song of fresh seafood can't be ignored anymore, head out the Bell Tower Shops and pull up a chair on the outdoor patio at the Blue Pointe Oyster Bar. Whether your plate includes plump raw oysters or tantalizing Paella for two, you’re sure to start feeling more at home with the wind and waves. Your pup can join you on the patio, but you might want to bring a stash of dog treats so you won't feel too bad as you enjoy your fantastic meal.

Bonita Bills
702 Fishermans Wharf

If your idea of a great lunch includes flip-flops, a cold beer and your beloved pooch at your feet, then Bonita Bills is the place to be. Order up a plate of fried clams and watch the fishing boats coming and going from the wharf. You might even catch a glimpse of a dolphin or manatee under the waves near the restaurant. This laid back place is owned by a local character who runs the place with the motto "No Shirts - No Shoes - Can I Get You a Beer?" Open at 6 a.m. and serving meals from breakfast to dinner, Bonita Bills is the place to satisfy whatever yumminess you may crave.

Shoeless Joe’s
13051 Bell Tower Drive

True to its namesake, Shoeless Joe’s is all about sports, especially baseball. Their menu starts off with basic pub food, then stretches out to such delights as grilled salmon, New York strip steak and Chicken Provencal. Your four-legged friend can join you at the outside seating while you enjoy the live music and lively atmosphere.

Dogs love to be with their people and with so many great choices close to your Springs Apartment home, there really isn't any reason to leave your furry best friend at home. Leave your suggestions for great pet-friendly restaurants you know of in the comments below!
